The management and board of the Silent Heroes Awards Initiative (SHAI) have congratulated Major General Raymond Nani Nkem Ochei (rtd) and Major General Lawrence Ayaegbunem Fejokwu (rtd) on their successful and distinguished retirement from the Nigerian Army, describing them as gallant officers who served their nation with honour, discipline, and patriotism.
In a statement issued by the organization, SHAI celebrated the two accomplished Generals for their unwavering dedication to national security, peacekeeping, and nation-building throughout their illustrious military careers.
According to the organization, their leadership footprints within and outside the Nigerian Armed Forces stand as enduring examples of integrity, professionalism, and quiet but impactful service.
“Both Major General Ochei and Major General Fejokwu have distinguished themselves beyond the call of duty,” SHAI stated.
“They have demonstrated deep compassion for humanity and an abiding commitment to community development, particularly in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, their ancestral home, and across the Anioma Nation and beyond.
Through philanthropy, mentorship, and empowerment initiatives, they have touched countless lives and advanced local development in ways that truly define the spirit of silent heroes.”
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SHAI, Mr. Odita Sunday, noted that the retirement of the two senior officers marks not an end but the beginning of a new chapter of service and impact.
“We are proud of their exemplary conduct and modest contributions to humanity,” Odita said.
“Their values perfectly align with the vision of SHAI, to recognize individuals who make remarkable differences without seeking the spotlight.”
The organization further extended its heartfelt wishes to the retired Generals for good health, fulfillment, and continued success in their post-service pursuits.
The Silent Heroes Awards Initiative (SHAI), founded by veteran journalist Mr. Odita Sunday, has earned national recognition for honouring individuals, corporate bodies, and public officials whose quiet contributions continue to oil the wheels of nation-building under its motto, “Celebrating Unsung Men and Women.”
