… as Gbagi say PDP, APC violate electoral act

The Social Democratic Party (SDP), has inaugurated over 150-member comprehensive Campaign Council to spearhead the success of the Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi/Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary ticket for the 2023 general election in Delta State.

The event took place Monday October 24th 2022, at the Fame Dele Hall, Signatious Hotel, Effurun, Uvwie local government area of the state.

Addressing the Campaign Council, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, charged members to take the party’s governorship campaign to their LGAs, wards and units.

The SDP chief who was represented by the South-south Vice Chairman, Elder Fred Owhotorofa, also encouraged its members to work tirelessly towards the 2023 elections.

He said with the inauguration, the SDP is set to coast home to victory towards the emergence of Olorogun Gbagi, OON, as Governor come 2023, as well as a total victory for all SDP candidates as the party, is set to replicate its trademark of landslide victory come 2023.

“Gabam, is very delighted because of Olorogun Gbagi, a man of outstanding character, unquestionable integrity, an entrepreneur of unmistakable definitions, a man who understands the dynamics of Delta State.

“A man who understands the issues that are bothering us in Delta State, a man who owe the key and solution provider to those issues that are currently challenging us in Delta State.

“A man who has sacrifice his all to provide selfless, dedicated, focus service to deliver and liberate Delta State, a man who will put Delta State in the right trajectory of development, peace and sustainable security, a man who has the commitment and the passion to massively develop Delta State.

“This is the new beginning. Gbagi is going to put us in the right trajectory in economic development of the state. Government borrowing in Delta State will end with Gbagi, the governor of Delta State, come 2023.

“So, as a campaign Council, we have a date with history, you and all SDP members and officials, we have a date with history and let’s translate the event of today to victory at the poll come 2023.

“Vote in Gbagi as governor of Delta State and vote Prince Adewole Adebayo, as our in coming president of the federal republic of Nigeria.

“This is the charge that Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, the national chairman of our great party, the Social Democratic Party, said, I should give to you, to energize you and to remind all of us of our joint responsibility.

“We must work together as one people, united entity, we must go round the nook and cranny of Delta State. Go down, deep down and deep in to cast your vote. Don’t be deceived, we must take and liberate Delta for the sake of our children, their children and for the sake of generations yet unborn and Deltans.

“We must work, avoid friction and we must work together to ensure that we deliver Delta State in resounding victory for SDP and Kenneth Gbagi as the governor”, he said.

On his part, the governorship candidate of the party in Nasarawa state, Alhaji Alfa Mohamed Mustapha and member of the SDP governorship candidates forum, said the rapidly growing endorsements, support and preference by Delta State people for Gbagi’s candidacy for the office of the Governor places on him (Gbagi) the determination to repay this huge trust by leading an administration of inclusiveness and broad-based development that touches on the cardinal aspirations of Deltans while safeguarding their lives and properties.

“I want to congratulate you all for having a man of integrity, the man that has already proven himself, the man that is already a governor before becoming a governor, the man that actually has investments that some states in Nigeria doesn’t have for a government to show in their States, he has it as investment in Delta State.

“Giving this person the mandate, you are already making Delta State work. You are not working for His Excellency, each one of you is working for his/her future and the future of the people of Delta State.

“Anybody that is working for his pocket, his children will keep following him to his pocket and anybody that works for His Excellency and success of SDP, is working for the progress of his family and the unborn generation.

“We assure you that SDP is a party of ideology to turn over Nigeria and Delta State”, he said.

Also speaking, the Delta State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Ambassador Oke Idawene JP said the party has launched a robust engagement strategy that would replicate the stories of victory that the SDP has always recorded in the State with Olorogun Felix Ibru and MKO Abiola, at the centre and State respectively when they won the most freest and fairest election.

According to Idawene: “In 2023, Delta people will be delivering all candidates of the party in all categories of the elections and most importantly vote themselves into an administration of progress and collective prosperity.

“This is the beginning of the liberate Delta mantra. Everyone here this afternoon, is making history. Delta SDP executive, we are fortunate because we are part of history. I want to call all of us to join hands with Olorogun Gbagi to liberate Delta State.

“It is not the vision and mission of the man alone, together, we can do it. This is a clarion call for all of us to join hands with him and build a new Delta State. Whatever we say here today, we mean it and we will do it”, he declared.

Responding on behalf of members of the newly inaugurated Campaign Council, the Director-General (DG) of the Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi Campaign Council, Prof. Jiff Mokobia, said the SDP and the Campaign Council will drive issue-based campaigns and called on all Deltans to sign on to the “Liberate Delta Agenda” of Gbagi.

“I want to say earnestly, I don’t accept something I cannot do and I want to say, I like challenges. Let me tell you people, we have a gift and that gift is Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, OON.

“Each time his name is mentioned, it’s enigmatic, people are scared of him, people are afraid of the truth, honesty, justice. We have a candidate who is very sellable because he is a forthright man, he is an entrepreneur, he is a financial disciplinarian.

“Delta knows that this is the time for liberation and we are coming with a man who has character and we are going to hit the ground running. Delta State has come of age, it’s now a new narrative. Gbagi is a game changer and he is the next governor of Delta State”, he noted.

In a related development, the SDP has promised to run an issue-based campaign as the 2023 Governorship race kicks off.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Campaign Council and governorship candidate of the party, Olorogun Gbagi, FNIM, OON, stated that with the inauguration of its Campaign Council and Committees, the party’s campaign machine has been empowered and energized to canvass for votes in the 2023 election.

“The victory we are celebrating now, all of it is made possible by God. After primaries of all the parties, Okowa commissioned a lawyer to go and search SDP, if they had some mistakes or some incursions in the primaries of the Social Democratic Party.

“Just as he was searching SDP if he will see what to do to destroy SDP or to go to court, he was searching APC, he was searching other parties. He went to INEC Portal, they searched all our names and processes by which we emerged .

“They searched our Congress if the chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam did not finish work or whether we cut corners. Okowa and some members of our party who hitherto ganging up with Okowa to make sure that he drops us or go to court would have succeeded.

“It will interest all of you to note that  Okowa and his party have taken Ovie Omo-Agege and APC to court for violation of the electoral process. We are waiting for them because they themselves have violated the electoral act.

“The greatest mistake that they have made is that Kenneth Gbagi, is the candidate of the SDP”.

Speaking on the Supreme Court judgement, that declared the PDP candidate winner of the primary, the constitutional lawyer cum Criminologist, said: “the Supreme Court, said nothing. The Supreme Court has not discuss the issues that bothers us and Deltans. The Supreme Court did what they did and I make bold to say to all of you that you are the luckiest.

“A man who is a thief cannot be barking and you who is not a thief, you are afraid. God who made it possible that PDP and APC violated the electoral act, did it purposely. SDP has become the only party Delta State has to work with”, he added.
