There was great jubilation in major towns in Ethiope east local government area of Delta State as the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, promised to offer all Delta children free education to the university level.

The jubilation took another dimension, when the renowned philanthropist announced that his administration would put an end to the sales of tickets to motorcycle and tricycle operators in the State from the first day he was sworn-in as governor.

On hearing the declaration for free education and a ban on tickets, which was declared in Isiokolo, the administrative headquarter of Ethiope east, during the governorship rally of SDP, youths who are predominantly Okada and Keke riders, traders, artisans and old women took to the streets in large numbers in a carnival like event, with most of them moving from one shop and canteen to another to celebrate the development.

“All these task and levies they are taking from Okada and Keke people, who are suffering. They finished school and they don’t have work and they started riding Okada for a living, yet the government is tasking them.

“I will cancel tickets on the first day. No Okada and Keke operator from May 29th will buy ticket. No ticket anymore”, he declared.

He charged the people of Ethiope east to vote massively for SDP in order for the liberation of their lives, that of their children and children yet unborn to be actualized.

Speaking, Chief Oghenero, an Okada rider, thanked Gbagi for the empowerment, “in May 29th this year, they will swear him in as governor of this state. I advise my colleagues to vote for him because we are tired. If we don’t change this government, they will use us to borrow money in this State again.

“And that is why we are desperate to change this government. I want all my colleagues to vote for Gbagi because of the level of suffering the people of Delta State have been subjected to due to mismanagement of the state resources by the present administration in the state.

He said, “Gbagi is the people’s choice. He will give the people of Delta State a strong voice. Gbagi, you are the best!”

Another speaker, Paul Otutu, said: “We will vote for Gbagi, for giving us free fuel. He is the man that fits the job”.

“It is expected to see people throng the streets, singing and dancing to welcome the decision of their preferred choice at the poll”.
