A socio-cultural organization under the aegis of ‘Jesse Elites Forum Worldwide’ has expressed happiness over the appointment of her Idjerhe traditional Ruler, His Royal Majesty (HRM) King 0bukohwo Monday Arthur Whiskey (JP), Udurhie 1, as a member of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council (DSTRC).
According to a congratulatory message issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the Asaba Branch of the Forum, Builder Godwin Oghenedoro and Comrade Lucky Oyibo, and sent to the reverend monarch, the Forum, also appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, for finding the Idjerhe Ovie worthy for the appointment.
Jesse Elites noted with satisfaction that the reign of Udurhie 1, has not only witnessed monumental growth and development, but has brought peace and tranquility to Idjerhe Kingdom, for the past one year.
While saying the reign of Ovie Whiskey, has placed Idjerhe as one of the fastest growing communities in Nigeria, the Forum commended the monarch for exemplifying the role of the traditional institution in his kingdom and state; thereby contributing to development administration through steady democracy in Nigeria.
The Forum noted that the contributions of Ovie Monday Whiskey to the peace-building and development of the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria will not remain unnoticed.
Affirming that the veteran journalist, spanning over three decades of journalism practice to his father land, and turned traditional ruler, will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the newly reconstituted Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council.
According to the Forum, the peaceful disposition of the monarch
towards ensuring peace, stability and progress in Idjerhe Kingdom
which has endeared him to his people, will be brought to bear in the administration of the state traditional rulers’ council, aimed at contributing to the stronger Delta mantra of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Recall that the state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, approved the reconstitution of the Council with His Royal Majesty, Major-Gen Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), Orhue 1, The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom as Chairman.
