The Abuja Branch of Issele-Uku Progressive Youth Association (IPYA), has commended the former Director General of State Security Services (SSS), Chief Peter Nwaodua (Ojiugo of Issele-Uku) for his tireless sponsorship of Mgba Ututu Festival with prizes over the last decade.
The commendation was made by the President of Abuja Branch of IPYA, Mr. Nkadi Kamene while addressing Agbogidi Obi Nduka, chiefs, elders and people of Issele-Uku immediately after the wrestling contests in order to commence the presentation of prizes to winners according to their categories.
Kamene affirmed that Chief Nwaodua had single-handedly sponsored the purchase of the prize items without a blink or complain through the youth body in the past 10 years and more.
While praying to God to continually replenish and reward him, the Youth President said it has always been the nature of the security expert to help, irrespective of the background of the person or group demanding his help.
Mr. Kamene equally appreciated the likes of Chief (Prof.) Veronica Ufoegbune, Mrs. J. N. Nwoko, Mrs. E.N. Adigwe, Mr. Henry Chukwuedo, Mr. Peter Oluonye, IDU Abuja and many others who have always come through for the youth group in many ways that cannot be counted.
In his vote of thanks to put a seal on the 2025 edition of Mgba Ututu Festival, the Chairman of Mgba Ututu Sub-Committee of the Ine Aho Festival Committee, Chief Fidelis Jigide lauded the creative and amiable monarch of Issele-Uku Kingdom, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka JP (MNSE) for his leadership foresight and strict adherence to Issele-Uku cultural heritage that have brought all the transformation that is being witnessed today.
He prayed God to continue to protect, guard and guide him in making the right decisions that will continue to unite Issele-Uku and bring unprecedented progress to the people of the land.
He also commended the Chiefs-in-Council, Elders-in-Council, Issele-Uku Development Union (IDU), the youth wing and all the people of Issele-Uku Kingdom both at home and abroad, for their consistent support, cooperation and reverence to the King, thereby describing all and sundry as partners in progress.
At the end of the Mgba Ututu segment, the Isekwute announced the commencement of Ine Uchichi which Obi Nduka opened by dancing to Ihu Onicha and back into the palace.
The Ine Uchichi would then last throughout the night, and all were advised to maintain peace and decorum as they celebrate.
