Issele-Uku Palace To Open Annual Festival With ‘Ilo Ife Di Unyagbe

Issele-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State is not only rich in culture and traditions, it has strict adherence and reverence to its cultural heritage in practice.

As the 2025 annual Ine Aho Festival begins in earnest this August, the Issele-Uku Royal Palace is set to commence the traditional year with a private palace rite christened ‘Ilo Ife Di Unyagbe’.

The ‘Ilo Ife Di Unyagbe’ strictly involves the King, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka and the Queen of the Kingdom (Anasi Obi), HRH Anasi-Obi Rosemary Chukwudumebi Nduka, in conjunction with the Igbebors – Chief Egbo Adigwe (Chi-Obi of Issele-Uku), Chief Uche Ngbanwa (Ashiobi of Issele-Uku) and Chief Isichei Morka (Isekwute of Issele-Uku) respectively; and it’s celebrated on Afor market day, which is this Monday, 11th August, 2025.

As the festive season opens and various cultural dates are observed in the traditional calendar with regards to specific events, the authority of the Kingdom has once again, urged all indigenes and visitors to maintain good public conducts and enjoy the rich, colourful and hospitable culture of the people of Issele-Uku Kingdom
