The highly revered monarch of Issele-Uku Kingdom and member of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka JP (MNSE), has conferred very important Palace Chieftaincy Titles on Mr. Onyeabor Ufoegbune and wife, Prof. Mrs. Veronica Ufoegbune in a well adorned Palace ceremony on Monday 30th December, 2024.

Obi Nduka pronounced the man as the “IKEDI-UGE” of Issele-Uku Kingdom, meaning the strength in Issele-Uku Royal Palace while the woman was decorated as the “Uvie-Uge” of Issele-Uku Kingdom, meaning the Beauty or the Honour of Issele-Uku Royal Palace.

Interestingly, the Uvie-Uge is a Bini word but translated in Issele-Uku to mean ‘Ejije Uge’. This is significant because, the female recipient hails from Ogboli village in Issele-Uku, a highly regarded people in the land, being that they hold the title of “Onishe’ of Issele-Uku as well as being special in-laws of the Royal Family.

It may interest you to know that Obi Nduka’s grandfather, Agbogidi Obi Rufus Osemene 111 married from Ogboli village, the beautiful Queen Phoebe Osemene.

Again, Obi Nduka’s father, Agbogidi Obi Henry Ezeagwuna 1 JP, married from Ogboli village, Queen Jelu Ezeagwuna.

More interesting in this historical narrative, is that Agbogidi Obi Nduka JP (MNSE), the wise king of Issele-Uku Kingdom, also married his most beautiful and most adorable wife, Queen Rosemary Chukwudumebi Nduka from Ogboli village.

Against all odds, nothing can ever break the umbilical cord that has already connected the Ogboli people with the Royal Family of Issele-Uku.

However, in his usual calm, bold and mysteriously authoritative nature in traditional matters, Obi Nduka blessed the couple, Ikedi-Uge and Uvie-Uge, praying God Almighty and the Great Ancestors to keep them in good health to continue to do their good works for humanity and Issele-Uku in particular.

Feeling highly honoured as recipients of the king’s traditional recognition, the American based couple returned to their family house at the Late Iyase of Issele-Uku, Chief Isikwei Umemezie Ufoegbune’s compound at Ogbeofu village to celebrate the reception of the milestone Chieftaincy conferment.

At the reception were the creme-de-la-creme of Issele-Uku, both at home and abroad, including visitors from across the world who had gathered to celebrate with the illustrious son and daughter of Issele-Uku Kingdom; and of course, they were sumptuously entertained both in meal and good traditional music.
