ISSELE-UKU BANK SAGA: Delta Governor Abandons Community, Jets To Isoko For Campaign

Over 24 hours when men of the underworld unleached terror on the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Issele-Uku Branch, Aniocha north local government area of Delta State, the government is yet to make official statement condemning the act which led to the death of about six persons.

Rather than visit the mourning Community which is still under the shock of the invasion and commiserate with them, the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, jetted to Owhelogbo for campaigns in Isoko north ahead of the House of Assembly by-election slated for April 10th 2021, caused by the death of Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere, the member who represented the Constituency in the State House of Assembly.

The governor in a post on his verified Facebook page, on Wednesday 30th March 2021, wrote thus: “Earlier today, at the flag-off of the PDP campaign rally for the House of Assembly by-election for Isoko North LGA, I noted with extreme delight that our great party is being repositioned from the grassroots level to the national level for better performance.

“This is because the enthusiasm shown by our party’s supporters, the unity of purpose of all our leaders, the caliber of our candidates, and the depth of their ideas, presents the voting public with four fundamental rationales to vote for our party.

“As we forge ahead, going from door to door, and from ward to ward ahead of the April 10th elections, it is my hope that the fire that we have seen at today’s campaign flag-off will also translate to a massive electoral victory for our great party”.
