The traditional ruler of Issele-Mkpitime Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty Obi Sunday Ubaka Ogboli, has commended Senator Ned Munir Nwoko for his sustained commitment to grassroots development across Delta North, particularly in fulfilling promises made to the Issele-Mkpitime community.
The senator’s visit to the palace on Saturday, June 7, 2025, came as a follow-up to an earlier engagement held in Abuja, where the monarch and community stakeholders presented key development needs, chief among them an equipped ICT centre and improved road infrastructure.
Warmly received by the Obi and his council of chiefs, Senator Nwoko was described by the monarch as a “leader of action, not rhetoric,” whose engagements go beyond political grandstanding.
“Your visit here today proves that you’re not just a senator in name, but in deed,” the Obi stated. “We asked for support, and you returned to us not with promises alone, but with progress.
Of course, like Oliver Twist, we must ask for more. But it is only because you have given us reason to believe in your capacity and sincerity.”
In response, Senator Nwoko assured the traditional leadership that the ICT Centre project was already underway and would be delivered in full.
“We are not just building structures, we are building access to opportunity,” he said.
“The ICT Centre will come with 100 computers, smart TVs, and guaranteed internet connectivity for five years. This is not just a gift; it’s an investment in your future.”
The senator further announced that an additional three kilometers of internal roads within the Issele-Mkpitime community had been secured under his 2025 constituency development programme.
Beyond infrastructure, Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his focus on human capital development.
He revealed that five additional students from Issele-Mkpitime would receive full scholarships to study at his Sports University, joining others already benefiting from his educational support initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the senator’s office, Chief of Staff Dr. Michael Nwoko highlighted another significant intervention: the inclusion of Issele-Mkpitime in the ERGP project code 20260464.
This federal intervention programme is designed to deliver modern classroom blocks to six communities across Delta North, with Issele-Mkpitime listed among the immediate beneficiaries.
Dr. Nwoko noted that such development efforts reflect Senator Nwoko’s strategic and inclusive approach to representation.
“This is what effective senatorial engagement looks like, planning, delivery, and follow-through. No community under Senator Nwoko’s watch is left behind,” he added.
The visit concluded with traditional blessings from the monarch and a reaffirmation of partnership between the senator’s office and the Issele-Mkpitime community.
