Illegal Traditional Stool Will Not Be Tolerated, Says Delta Governor

Delta state Government would not tolerate illegal stool and every traditional stool must be duly recognized, the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has warned.


The state governor dropped the warning on Tuesday 5th January 2021, during the presentation of staff of office to HRM Emmanuel Okumagba II, the Orosuen Of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, in  Warri south local government area.

Represented by his Deputy Governor, Barr  Kingsley Otuaro, while congratulating HRM on his ascension to the throne said emphatically that the state government would not in any way meddle into the selection process of kingship in the state.

He commended the people for their peaceful disposition during the selection and enthronement process that has brought about government recognition.

According to the Special Assistant on Media, Elohor Rita Agbra, the Deputy Governor urged HRM to discharge his responsibility with diligence, transparency, fairness and equity.

He advised him to see his elevation as a mandate to contribute his quota to the development of the Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, bringing his wealth of experience to bear in handling the responsibilities bestowed on him.

Deacon Otuaro called on the people to coperate with HRM and accord him the honour he deserves.

He noted that Okere-Urhobo kingdom is a commercial nerve centre and charged the people to key into government programmes and uplift their businesses.

The Chairman of Warri south local government council, Dr. Michael Tidi, described HRM Emmanuel Okumagba II, the Orosuen Of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom as a detribalized Nigerian.

In his welcome address the Usiavwe of Okere-Urhobo kingdom Chief Emmanuel Omovie, thanked the state government for finding their sons and daughters of Okere-Urhobo worthy for appointments.

He commended the State governor for transforming the kingdom and the state with good network of roads, while appealing for more.
