I Never Endorsed Crime or Fraud In My Sermons — Prophet Fufeyin

The Founder and General Overseer of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministries International, Effurun, Delta State, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, has strongly condemned the misrepresentation of one of his past sermons currently circulating on social media, insisting that he has never supported or encouraged fraudsters or criminal behavior in his teachings.

Reacting to what he described as a deliberate manipulation of his sermon by a “malicious and wicked blogger,” Prophet Fufeyin clarified that the message in question was originally preached on January 30, 2022, and not a recent teaching as falsely portrayed online.

Speaking to his congregation and the media, Prophet Fufeyin, widely known as Papa J, explained that the sermon titled “First Fruits” focused on the biblical principle of sacrifice and devotion to God.

He usi scriptural examples such as Hannah, who offered her first fruit to God and was blessed with more children, and the story of Esau and Jacob, where Jacob’s reverence for first fruits brought divine favor.

“I encouraged believers to honour God with their first fruits—something sacred and rooted in scripture. I never, and will never, ask anyone to engage in criminality,” Fufeyin stated emphatically.

The billionaire prophet went further to reprimand certain Christian leaders who were quick to react without fully understanding the context of his message.

He specifically mentioned CAN officials, including the National Director of National Issues and Social Welfare, Abimbola Ayuba, and the Lagos State CAN Chairman, Bishop Adegbite, urging them to uphold the values of wisdom, humility, and fairness expected of spiritual leaders.

“If you’re truly led by the Spirit, you’ll listen and seek truth before casting judgment. That message has been online since 2022—public and unchanged. There’s no excuse for misrepresentation,” he said.

Prophet Fufeyin called on the general public to ignore the distorted content making the rounds online, and advised people to visit the official social media pages of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministries for unaltered and complete sermons.

“Everything we preach is public. Nothing is hidden. Before reacting to edited clips, get the full message. Truth is not found in fragments,” he added.

As the controversy continues to stir online debate, Prophet Fufeyin remains resolute, urging unity in the body of Christ and calling for responsible conduct among believers and clerics alike.
