Seventy-six indigent students from Burutu II Constituency have been selected to benefit from the 2025 edition of bursary allowances initiated by the Member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Pereotu Oloye.

Speaking during the flag-off of the exercise, which involves direct online credit alerts to beneficiaries, Hon. Oloye said the initiative aligns with his firm resolve to prioritize education and human capital development in Burutu II Constituency.

The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Urban Renewal, explained that the 76 undergraduate beneficiaries are currently enrolled in various higher institutions across Nigeria.

“It will be recalled that in July 2025, I undertook a comprehensive data collection exercise, conducted in three batches, to identify indigent students deserving of my bursary intervention.

“Today, the first batch of 76 students has received credit alerts to support their educational progress, in line with my academic development goals for Burutu II Constituency,” Oloye stated.

Commending the laudable achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in the education sector, Hon. Oloye emphasized that his intervention complements the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government.

He further pledged unwavering commitment to educational development in the state, particularly in Burutu II Constituency, noting that education remains a cornerstone of his empowerment initiatives.

Hon. Oloye also urged constituents to remain steadfast in their support for good governance and sustainable development, assuring them of his continued effective representation at the State Legislature.
