Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has extended warm felicitations to Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on the occasion of his 55th birthday anniversary.

Guwor, who is a nephew to the revered Niger Delta leader, described the celebrant as a historic figure whose courage, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to peace and development, particularly in the Niger Delta, have left an enduring imprint on Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

In a goodwill message issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker commended Tompolo’s far-reaching contributions to youth and women empowerment, grassroots development, and the protection of critical national assets.

“Today, I join countless Niger Deltans, Nigerians, and admirers of peace and progress across the world in celebrating a living legend—my uncle and leader, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo.

Your life reflects resilience, fearless advocacy, and a deep, unwavering love for our people,” Guwor stated.

He noted that the celebrant has consistently stood in defence of the marginalised, amplifying the voices of the underserved, an attribute he described as the true essence of leadership.

“You are not only a father figure to me but also a beacon of hope to an entire generation. Your timely interventions in moments of crisis restored calm where there was unrest, while your vision continues to inspire leaders at all levels in the quest for a more prosperous nation.

“From Gbaramatu to the creeks and beyond, your name resonates with honour, built on years of sacrifice. The people remain proud to follow the path you have paved,” he added.

The Conference of Speakers Chairman further acknowledged Tompolo’s pivotal role in stabilising the Niger Delta and mentoring emerging leaders across the region, describing his influence as a benchmark for patriotism, purposeful leadership, and transformative impact.

According to Guwor, the celebrant’s enduring investments in human capital development and peacebuilding are legacies that will continue to speak for generations.

On behalf of his family, constituents in Warri South West, the Delta State House of Assembly, and members of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, the Speaker wished the Ebipamowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom continued joy, peace, good health, and greater accomplishments.

“As you mark this milestone, I pray that Almighty God grants you long life, sound health, and greater wisdom. May this new chapter bring you fulfilment and the realization of your vision for the Niger Delta.

“May your strength be continually renewed, and may your best years still lie ahead. Happy birthday to a dependable mentor and beloved uncle,” Guwor concluded
