Leading governorship candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, has stated that he has what it takes to turn Delta State to an El Dorado and give Deltans a sense of belonging in the affairs of their State.

The leading private and largest employer of labour in the State, Gbagi, stated this on Tuesday March 7th 2023, when he visited the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, comprising Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Catholic Men Organization (CMO) and those in charge of the youths drawn from Warri, Bomadi and Issele-Uku Dioceses, at Agbarho, Ughelli north local government area of the State, while on a consultation visit pursuant to his governorship ambition,

He told the congregation and members of his faith that his innate ability to run a booming private sector driven businesses has led to engagement and emancipated of over 6000 youths across the State .

The former minister of state for education said the State needs a man with character who have travelled far and wide and someone who can work with Deltans from all shades of life as governor.

The former chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, who was fielding questions from a participant at the meeting said: “I am the only governorship candidate in the state that have sat at the federal executive council of Nigeria, with former president Goodluck Jonathan.

“The place that Okowa was trying to go to, I have sat there and I used the office and experience to bring a Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) to Delta State.

“Recall that there was a gentle minister for Petroleum called Rilwanu Lukman, who said the College that was related to petroleum should be relocated to Kaduna

“Thirty-two days after I became a minister, I founded FUPRE, in Ugbomro.

“None of the people who says they want to govern you, have risen to the federal level where power devolves.

“I am the first black African in the world to become an AKS member of Rotary International and by the singular arrangement, I eradicated polio in Delta State.

“I have moved round the world. I was a former Chairman of Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, three years after I became a lawyer.

“With my experience I will turn Delta to an Eldorado. We need someone who is honest. My reason for running, is not to make money for myself. I have enough. But for the welfare of Deltans.”

“I have the experience and the sagacity to remove Delta State from the state of quagmire. You need principled leadership that is honest and that can tell you that a Spade should be called a spade.

“I believe that I have far what it takes to represent you people and turn Delta State to a better place, that is why I am here”, he declared.
