A Human Rights, Societal Justice and an Anti-corruption group, known as Concerned Nigerians, has written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led government over attempt to “loot” N150 billion loan recently approved by the State House of Assembly, under Sheriff Oborevwori.

The petition dated 6th May 2022 and signed by the Convener, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, addressed to the Chairman of the anti-graft agency, reads in part: “at a time when the nation is engrossed with the commencement of electioneering process, leading to the 2023 election, it is alarming that the Delta State government has initiated and secured the approval of the Delta State House of Assembly to obtain a humongous loan of N150 billion”.
