As the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, performs the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the ₦59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, legal practitioner, politician and public affairs analyst, Eugene Azuka Uzum, has said he has once again been vindicated.

Uzum recalled that he had earlier called on the state government to address the deplorable condition of the Uromi Junction, citing its strategic importance and the need to improve traffic flow and public safety in the area.

He noted that his position, which aligned with the Oborevwori administration’s broader drive for sustainable infrastructure development, was initially met with criticism and opposition from some quarters.

According to him, many had argued that the junction fell under the responsibility of the Federal Government, questioning the need for state intervention.

Uzum, however, commended Governor Oborevwori for demonstrating responsiveness to constructive criticism and for undertaking the project based on critical needs assessment rather than jurisdictional debates.

He further praised the decision to award the contract to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, describing it as a clear indication of the administration’s commitment to quality, timely delivery and adherence to global standards.

Uzum expressed confidence that, upon completion, the flyover would significantly ease vehicular movement, reduce road accidents and stimulate economic activities within Agbor and its environs.
