Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Delta State in accordance with God’s will, while calling for continued prayers and support to help his administration succeed.

The Governor made this known on Sunday during an unscheduled visit to Heroes of Faith Ministries in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, where he worshipped with the congregation.

Addressing the church, Governor Oborevwori stated that his visit was unannounced, even to his aides, emphasizing that it was a personal decision motivated by a desire to hear the word of God.

“I told our Lord Bishop that when I would come, I would come unannounced. I came today because I genuinely wanted to worship and listen to God’s word,” he said.

He expressed deep appreciation to the church’s presiding cleric, Bishop Kingsley Enakirehi, for his steadfast support during the 2023 elections, especially in the face of criticism.

“Some people criticized you and called you a betrayer because you followed God’s leading and supported me openly. But today, the results speak for themselves,” the Governor stated.

Highlighting key development projects under his administration, Governor Oborevwori pointed to the ongoing flyover constructions and other infrastructure projects as evidence of his commitment to improving lives across the state.

“When people talk about your decision to support me, you can point to the flyovers and roads as proof that you did the right thing. These are the fruits of that decision,” he said.

Reiterating his commitment to the MORE Agenda, Oborevwori assured the people of Delta that his administration will continue to work tirelessly to deliver inclusive development across all regions of the state.

“We will continue to serve in line with God’s will. I urge you to keep praying for those of us in leadership so we do not lose focus or get distracted,” he added.

In his remarks, Bishop Kingsley Enakirehi praised Governor Oborevwori as a detribalized leader whose projects have positively impacted all three senatorial districts of the state.

He lauded the Governor’s “leadership with speed,” pointing to the recently approved Otovwodo Junction flyover and various road projects as clear evidence of a result-oriented administration.

“Governor Oborevwori is a man of his word. He acts fast and delivers on his promises. The joy in our communities is a direct result of his leadership,” the Bishop said.

He also commended the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, for his leadership at the grassroots.

In his sermon titled “Living for Christ,” Bishop Enakirehi called for repentance and transformation, urging those still engaging in wickedness to turn to God.

He concluded the service with prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and other leaders, asking for divine wisdom and protection as they lead the nation and state forward.
