Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the elevation of Dr. Nelson Egware to the position of Executive Assistant, Media, in recognition of his dedication to strategic communication and unwavering service to the advancement of the state.
Until his elevation, Dr. Egware served as Senior Special Assistant on Media, where he played a pivotal role in articulating and projecting the Governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda, Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security, through robust media engagement and content strategy.
A multi-talented professional, Dr. Egware brings a unique blend of experience in accounting, banking, journalism, academia, and media strategy.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Delta State University, Abraka (2004), and launched his career at New Nigeria Bank (now Unity Bank) in 2005.
He later joined Zenith Bank Plc in 2007 before transitioning into academia as a pioneer lecturer at Delta State Marine Polytechnic, Burutu, in 2011.
His foray into governance and public communication began in 2015, when he was appointed Special Assistant, Media in the Delta State Government, a role that marked the beginning of his deep involvement in political communication.

He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (2017) from the International Institute of Journalism in collaboration with the University of Maiduguri, along with professional certifications from Reuters, Meta, and WABMA, in digital journalism and misinformation detection.

He has held notable campaign roles, including Strategic Communications Liaison Officer for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Delta State and as a media strategist for the State Governorship Campaign Council during the 2023 general elections.
Dr. Egware is also the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Truth Reporters, Editor of Veracity Magazine (Delta State Ministry of Information), and Deputy Editor of Delta Revealed, published by the State New Media Office.
A committed scholar, he has authored over 15 academic articles and co-authored prominent publications such as 200 Most Outstanding Deltans and Hope and Fulfillment, chronicling the achievements of former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
A native of Emevor in Isoko North LGA, Dr. Egware is widely respected for his intellect, discipline, and commitment to truth. His elevation is seen as both a reward for merit and a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive and performance-driven leadership style.
As Executive Assistant, Media, he is expected to play an expanded role in shaping and executing the Governor’s communication strategy as the administration accelerates the implementation of its Renewed Hope for M.O.R.E. Agenda.
