Marriage Ceremonies Turn Political Carnival, As Frontline Delta Governorship Aspirant Storm Events

The intention of the gatherings were for marriage ceremonies, however, the presence of the Delta State leading governorship aspirant come 2023, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, turned the wedding receptions to a political carnival.

It would be an understatement not to mention that the prominent gubernatorial hopeful, Olorogun Gbagi, former minister of education, stole the events as he became the centre of attraction to guests and none guests alike who thronged the venues on his arrival.

The excitement which greeted the air waves could be likened to the Biblical “Triumphant Entry” of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, as his presence at any event either organized by him (Gbagi) or any other person comes with array of good omen.

At Otu-Jeremi, the administrative headquarter of Ughelli south local government area of the state, it was a funfair as the frontline guber aspirant and Delta foremost industrialist stormed Mr. John Ogoro’s daughter’s marriage ceremony.

Meanwhile, the father of the celebrant Mr. John Ogoro, who was overwhelmed and couldn’t hold back his emotions, expressed gratitude to Olorogun Gbagi, a criminologist cum security expert.

Corroborating the ovation that greeted the presence of the most outstanding governorship aspirant, the father of the celebrant, said: “today am lifted up as you added more colours to my daughter’s marriage ceremony.

He added, “God will surely give you your heart desires”, Ogoro, said.

Similarly, Olorogun Gbagi, attended the marriage ceremony of Chief Francis Arhiyor’s daughter at Osubi, Okpe local government area of the state.

At both events, youths from Okpe, Osubi and Otu-Jerem used the marriage turned carnival to call for support for Gbagi’s governorship aspiration, saying it is a panacea for rapid industrial development of the state.

Top government functionaries and party chieftains who attended the marriage ceremonies include Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), Chief Barr. Kingsley Esiso, State Chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Rt. Hon. Ovie Agas, Chief of Staff, Government House and Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, the member representing Uvwie State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA).

Others are; Chief Author Akpowowo, Commissioner for Urban and Rural Waterboard, Chief Vincent Oyibode, Commissioner representing Udu, Ughelli south and Uvwie on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOOADEC) and Chief Peter Efie, the Onuevworo of Ekpan Clan.
