No fewer than 30 support groups have declared support for the candidature of the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, ahead of the March 11th guber elections.

The supporters said they are dumping the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), because of their insensitive leadership style, describing them as a house divided against itself.

They said they were compelled to join the #LiberateDelta blazing trail of the SDP and the umbrella body, Deltans Fixing Delta (DFD) which elicit hope and assurances for the youth of Delta.

Receiving the group on Friday January 13th 2023, at his residence in Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area on behalf of SDP and DFD, the gubernatorial candidate, Olorogun Gbagi, flanked by his Deputy governorship candidate, Chief Mrs Oshilim Ishioma Rosemary, told them that they were in the right place.

He assured them that they have equal right with those who had been here.

He told the groups that they are free to participate in all the party activities, adding that “you are free to involve and engage in all the party activities and especially at this time when we are on the campaign and election is coming.”

He further said that the opposition, especially the PDP and APC, packaged well misinformed lies and propaganda against him because he was too strong for them.

According to him, “this propaganda is aimed at blackmailing him but God has continuously defended him in past blackmails cooked by the state government under Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

Meanwhile, the SDP governorship flagbearer, urged the support groups to commence market and door-to-door campaigns.

DFD is the umbrella body of members of different political parties rooting for Gbagi and Rosemary as next Governor and Deputy Governor of Delta State respectively.

He disclosed that the Campaign Council and DFD adopted door-to-door and market campaign strategy for effective result.

He said it was through interpersonal communication that the majority of Deltans would understand the good plans of the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party.
