Gbagi, a former Minister of State for Education, in a statement issued Monday November 20th 2023, by his Chief Press Secretary, Orusi Kenneth, noted the unique position of the former president in the growth and development of the nation.
He said Jonathan sacrificed personal ambition for the greater good of the country, and successfully winning the hearts of Nigerians and the world as a man of peace, by carrying on his legacy of truce and amity to many countries.
Gbagi who created one of the Federal Universities in Otueke, Jonathan’s country home, joined the family, particularly his wife, Patience, and mother, Eunice, in celebrating another milestone in the former President’s life.
He said Jonathan’s profile should remind those in position and all aspiring leaders that serving the country and humanity required sacrifice, and ultimately, placing the interest of others above personal gains.
Gbagi, a former Chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, believed the friendliness, loyalty, and humility of Jonathan continue to open opportunities for service to humanity while defining a path for the former President to invest in people, institutions, and nations.
While praying for his well-being and that of his family, he described him as an apostle of peace and democracy in Africa.
He extended warm greetings to his former boss and family, praying that the Almighty God would continue to sustain them in good health and all round wellbeing.
