The Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate in Delta State, His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, has distributed free Premium Motor Spirits (PMS), to over 500 commercial motorcycle and tricycle riders in Ughelli south and Udu local government areas of the State.
This is part of his liberation move to alleviate the suffering the insensitive Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) administration under Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, inflicted on Deltans.
The SDP governorship flagbearer, Gbagi, a renowned philanthropist, on Monday January 9th 2023, stormed Ganico Creation station in Ughelli south and Sagwe Intercontinental Limited in Udu where he gave free petrol to the commercial drivers.
The gesture was seen by them as the benevolence coming from the biggest employer of Labour in the State to them (cyclists and Keke riders).
The motorcycle and tricycle operators who queued at both filling stations, sang the praises of Gbagi, to high heavens, saying it is his character to help people especially the less privilege in the society.
They got full tanks of fuel each in the gesture which threw up jubilation, prayers, encomiums on the Gbagi, who rejoices in seeing people taken out of depression and burden.
Gbagi, a former minister of state for education, who served the riders personally at the filling stations, regretted that Okada and Keke riding were the only industries the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led government created in seven and half years.
They prayed to God to grant Gbagi, victory and all his heart desires. They prayed that God would make Gbagi’s #LiberateDelta, victorious in the March 11 polls, saying that with him, Delta State is in safe hands.
A tricycle operator, Efegherhi Dickson, who hails from Okwagbe, said: “I am very happy that our incoming Governor, His Excellency, Olorogun Gbagi, has been doing good for long, this is not the first time.
“He has been taking care of multitudes, including Okada riders, Keke operators, market women, the aged people.
“He has been doing a lot of good for long and today, he has called everyone of us to Jeremi Junction to collect full tank of fuel for free. We all will support him to be our governor”.
Another beneficiary, Abraham Duku, who expressed gratitude to the kind gesture, said: “Gbagi, is the one that is going for the governorship. Don’t go in search of another person somewhere, we have the person here.
“We want Gbagi, who will listen to our plights, give us free education, construct our roads. Don’t go to another place, come and vote for Gbagi”, he said.
Similarly, a motorcyclist, said: “I am very excited, what Okowa could not do, that is what Gbagi has done today. Gbagi, is the man of the people. The cap fits him. If he becomes the governor today, we will be entitled to free education, good road network, power supply.
“He has done a lot for his Oginibo people, he has done enough for Ughievwen people. In fact whether Ughievwen, Ughelli south, Udu it Delta State like it or not, Gbagi is our next governor, nobody can change it” he declared.
A female cyclist, Florence, from Agbarha who equally benefited from the gesture, said: ‘i am very happy that Gbagi, is giving us free fuel. He is very capable to be the next governor of Delta State”.
In same vein, another tricycle operator, vowed that he, his wife and two children would vote for Gbagi at the polls, “Gbagi is the next governor of this Delta State. Me and my wife and two children, we are going to vote Gbagi and I know that he will work because I know him before now”, he revealed
