Chief Emuoboh Gbagi has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Delta State Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment as the South-South Coordinator of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative, describing the selection as both strategic and well-deserved.
In a statement on Wednesday December 3, 2025, Gbagi said Okowa’s new role reflects national recognition of his depth of experience, proven leadership qualities, and long-standing commitment to service.
He noted that Okowa’s record as governor, senator, and public administrator has consistently demonstrated his ability to build consensus, inspire development, and manage complex responsibilities.
Gbagi expressed confidence that Okowa will bring his trademark calmness, vision, and administrative strength to the assignment, helping to drive the core objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative across the six states of the South-South region.
According to him, the appointment underscores the importance of deploying competent leaders to drive national development programmes that cut across political lines.
He added that Okowa’s capacity for national engagement and his deep understanding of regional dynamics make him a natural fit for the role.
Gbagi congratulated the former governor and wished him strength, wisdom, and continued success as he undertakes the new national responsibility.
