Foundation Vows To Invest In Education, Healthcare Others

The founder, OMO Oritsegbemi Maurice Ojoede Foundation, Dr. Omo Oritsegbemi Maurice Ojoede, has said that the Foundation is renewing its engagement with key partners on how to address some of the educational, Healthcare and community deficit facing communities in the State.

Dr. Omo Oritsegbemi Maurice Ojoede, noted that the Foundation is making a significant investment in these sectors to ensure that there is improved sanitary condition, available clean and affordable water, better environmental condition for residents.

He spoke during the celebration of the five years anniversary of the Foundation which coincide with the commissioning of three boreholes projects in Koko, Warri North local government area of Delta state.

According to him, there are enormous challenges, however with collaboration and support, the challenges would be surmounted.

Hear him: “As we celebrate the 5th anniversary, it is only fitting that we reflect on the progress that we have made and impact we have created together.

“The OMO Foundation was borne out of a deep desire to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by our communities.

“From access to quality education, healthcare and clean water to building a sustainable infrastructure that fosters long-term well-being.

“Our mission has been to create an ecosystem where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstance has the opportunity to thrive.

“Over the past five years, we have built a legacy of positive change through our unwavering commitment to this pilar of development”.

Speaking on some of the achievements of the foundation, Dr.
Maurice Ojoede, said its area is community development, stressing that it is the foundation upon which all its efforts rest.

“Through the OMO Foundation, we have organized community outreach programmes aimed at fostering unity, enhancing social cohension and empowering individuals to drive sustainable change and lead better lives.

“Our community development initiatives have provided thousands of individuals with skills training, employment opportunities and access to resources that have improved their livelihoods in line with the SSG 8 and 11. Decent work and economic growth and sustainable cities and communities”.

On education, he said: “quality education is a powerful tool for lifting individuals out of poverty and we place a strong emphasis on making education more accessible, equitable and inclusive.

“We believe SGD 4, quality education plays a critical role in improving standard of living and through the OMO Foundation’s educational programme, we have carried out renovations of schools, provided scholarships to underprivileged children and funded educational materials to rural schools.

“We have also instituted mentorship and vocational training programmes that equip young people with skills they need to succeed in the job market.

“By focusing on both informal and formal education, we are empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators and change makers who will bring development to their communities”.

Speaking further, the philanthropist, hinted that in the health sector, “The OMO Foundation has worked tirelessly to improve healthcare access and services and outcomes for communities that are hard to reach.

“We have provided funding for medical services in rural areas including maternal healthcare which is a huge burden for many families particularly those in the riverine areas as well as treatment for common ailments. We also work to raise awareness about critical health issues including malaria prevention and mental health”.

He noted that one of their proudest achievements in sustainability is the citing of water projects, reiterating that the commissioning of the three water projects marks a significant step towards providing clean and safe water to communities.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of their partners, Dr. Maurice Ojoede, disclosed that the level of impact the Foundation has put in wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of their partners, team of volunteers and the communities the Foundation serves.

“We will continue to invest in education, healthcare, community development and sustainability, stressing that the Foundation was more determined than ever to expand “our reach and deepen our impact”, OMO Oritsegbemi Maurice Ojoede founder added.

In their separate remarks, the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Barr. Thank God Harry Trakiriowei, State PDP chairman, Chief Solomon Areyenka and Hon. Festus Ashima, Chairman, Warri North local government area, commended the initiative of the founder.

The trio assured him that they would ensure they give support to what is doing in Delta communities and see how the State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the government hear and know of his gestures.

Three boreholes were commissioned by Beach by Vic Joe Supermarket, Total by OJO Ogbogbo quarters and at Eburu for the people of Koko to have clean water heralded with the cutting of the 5th year anniversary of the foundation.
