Fostering Hopes Foundation, an NGO supporting families at risk of separation with business grants in Asaba and parts of Delta State, has been commended for humanitarian services with greater focus on child development and protection.

In a meeting with the Director and management team of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Delta State Directorate, the Foundation was applauded, not just for the business support grants to the families under its care but its child protection initiatives geared towards their children’s Scholarship, at least until they are done with their secondary education.

The NOA Director, Mrs. Tracy Ikolomi assured of the Agency’s partnership in the areas of awareness creation for the laudable services the Foundation is rendering to humanity as well as advocacy to continue to spotlight the Foundation.

According to her, “The Foundation through her founder has done noble and deserves support in terms of partnership. Your concern is apt; this is a worthy and genuine project that demands the collaborative effort of all in helping distressed families thrive while stabilizing their vulnerable children within the family system.

“Education is key to helping children at risk of family crisis and separation find hope again and achieve their lives’ dreams. We can’t but support you in our own little way by engaging our staff from various locations for the Walkathon Project you have proposed for April, as well as help sensitize the public of your initiatives”, Ikolomi assured.

Earlier in her speech, the Founder and Coordinator of Fostering Hopes Foundation, Nkechi Ukome had commended NOA for their great enlightenment effort on issues of national concerns as well as their orientation agenda for values, culture and moral behaviours of society.

While seeking the Agency’s necessary collaboration, she intimated her host of how the Foundation had between October last year and January this year, empowered six families with business support grants and 19 children from these families placed on scholarship.

The Foundation’s Head of Communications, Comrade Patrick Ochei said the Walkathon proposed for 5th April is an ambitious task that is aimed at awareness creation as well as rallying support in fundraising to be able to enlist more families into the empowerment scheme.

However, members of the NOA management team including the Deputy Director, Human Resource Management, Mrs. Patricia Umunna, Deputy Director, Community Outreach and Development, Mrs. Agartha Ojogho, Deputy Director, Media and Communication, Mrs. Omokhudu Gladys, Head, Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Ijeoma Wilbet, and Head, Planning, Research and Strategy, Mr. Chiejine Emmanuel contributed in enriching the discourse with ideas and suggestions.
