The family of late Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, FNIM, OON former Minister of State for Education and Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 general election in Delta State, has announced arrangements for his burial rites.
A statement signed by Chief Emuobo Gbagi, the late industrialist’s eldest son, said the funeral arrangements will begin on July 4th with a night of tributes by 6:00pm at the AIB Event Centre, City Park, Wuse Zone 2. Abuja FCT.
The press release disclosed that the burial arrangement will end with a thanksgiving service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oginibo, Ughelli south local government area, Delta State on Sunday 14th July, 2024.
It further noted that in-laws greeting and condolence will commenced by Traditional Chiefs of various kingdoms and groups associated with Olorogun Kenneth Ghagi, from Monday 15, 2004.
The family also extended their gratitude to Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, political leaders, royal fathers, religious and community leaders, heads of security agencies, unionists, public officials, student leaders, and women groups, saying “While thanking the President and Commander in Chief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, His Excellency Governor of Delta State and all well-wishers for the prayers and support during this trying period, we appeal for your presence during the obsequies”.
It would be recall that the biggest employer of labour in the State and great Rotarian of repute, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, FNIM, OON, died on Saturday 4th May 2024.
THE BURIAL RITES
PRESS RELEASE BY THE GBAGI FAMILY ON THE BURIAL PROGRAMME OF LATE OLOROCUN BARE. KENNETH OMEMAVWA GBAGI OON
Further to the death of our father, brother and grandfather, Olorogun Bars. Kenneth C Gbagi, OON on the 4th of May, 2024, the family after consultation at the family, community and stakeholders have released the following funeral Programme for our departed hero.
The funeral programme will commence with a Special night of tributes on the 4th of July 2024, at the AIB Event Centre, City Park, Wuse Zone 2. Abuja FCT, by 6:00pm.
A Vigil Mass will thereafter take place at Ghagi Haven, Oginibo, Ughelli South Local Covernment Area, Delta State, starting 4pm on Thursday 11 July 2004.
On Friday 12th July, 2024 by 9:00am, Body leaves Naval Hospital Mortuary, Effurun in a Motorcade to his Country Home Oginibo, where he will lie in state from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Funeral service consisting of Liturgy of the Word and Commendation will take as from 11:00am while a private internment Ceremony will be held at his Country abode.
Reception of guests takes place after the internment
