The family of the late Chief Joseph Onwusa Oyem, fondly known as Ogbejo, has officially announced the burial arrangements for their beloved patriarch.
The revered elder, who passed away at the age of 80, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Umusam Utagba-Uno, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.
In a statement released by Mr. Kenneth Oyem on behalf of the family, the burial ceremony is set to take place over two days.
The program will begin on Thursday, March 20, 2025, with a Service of Songs at the late chief’s compound in Umusam Ugo.
The event will be an opportunity for family members, friends, and well-wishers to pay their last respects and celebrate a life well lived.
The final funeral rites will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, starting with an official funeral service at 10am at the late chiefâs compound in Umusam Utagba-Uno.
Immediately after the service, guests will proceed to Eduzez Primary School, Utagba-Uno, where a grand reception will be held in honor of the late patriarch.
A highly respected figure in his community, Chief Oyem was known for his wisdom, leadership, and dedication to the cultural heritage of Ndokwa land.
His passing has left a significant void in the hearts of many, but his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
