ABRAKA, DELTA STATE — A storm of public outrage is brewing in Delta State following strong allegations of widespread substandard infrastructure projects executed under the watch of prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figures.
The criticism, led by political commentator Michael Imonioro in a viral Facebook post, directly accuses former PDP Chairman Kingsley Esiso and Ika South LGA Chairman Jerry Ehiwario of compromising public safety through the delivery of poorly constructed roads and other failed projects.
In a scathing post titled “Delta PDP Stakeholders Embark on Substandard Projects at the Expense of Deltans,” Imonioro lambasted the political elite in Delta for the alarming state of infrastructure in the state, blaming their actions for avoidable deaths and economic hardship.
He argues that the ongoing spate of road accidents and deepening depression among residents stem not from supernatural forces, as often culturally assumed, but from criminal negligence and systemic corruption by political leaders.
“Believe it or not, in Nigeria, the large number of road accidents that result in injury or possible deaths are not witchcraft manipulated, but bad roads,” Imonioro wrote.
“The case of my state, Delta, is worse. It’s the same people in government that are responsible for the construction of these death trap roads.”
The most damning example cited is the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Abraka-Eku road in Ethiope East LGA, currently being handled by Oruese International Nigeria Enterprises.
Imonioro described the work as a “big embarrassment” and a “slap” to the people of Abraka, especially since Esiso, who hails from the area, is allegedly linked to the project.
“It’s disgraceful that despite the state’s oil wealth, this is the quality of infrastructure our people get,” he added.
Similarly, the post highlighted a failed road project in Ika South LGA that has reportedly deteriorated within six months of completion under the supervision of Chairman Jerry Ehiwario.
Imonioro said the situation has turned mechanics into involuntary companions for many struggling motorists, warning that the emotional and financial strain is pushing many into depression and despair.
“When a man who’s struggling to survive sees himself in a mechanic workshop daily, you can imagine what may follow,” he stated.
The commentary also questions the moral compass of the political class, accusing them of treating public projects as personal favors rather than civic responsibilities.
“Whatever projects any politician is handling is at the expense of the people and not Father Christmas,” Imonioro wrote.
He did not spare Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, suggesting that the failure of party stalwarts like Esiso and Ehiwario is now undermining the Governor’s credibility and fueling mass defections from the PDP to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
“In no distant time, Deltans shall take all their grievances to the polls to kick PDP and their evil practices out of Delta State,” he declared.
While these are serious allegations, neither the Delta State Government nor the individuals named, Esiso, who is fondly called “Oruese” and Ehiwario, have issued a public response at the time of this report.
The situation underscores a growing demand among Deltans for transparency, accountability, and quality governance, especially in a state rich in natural resources yet plagued by underdevelopment.
As political temperatures rise ahead of the next election cycle, the voice of the electorate may soon become the ultimate reckoning for those accused of trading public trust for personal gain.
When contacted for his reaction, the contractor, Kingsley Esiso, stated, “As far as I am concerned, that project is not abandoned. I don’t believe any job has been abandoned”, Esiso said.
As of press time, text message sent to the Ika South Local Government Chairman, Ehiwario, seeking his response, was not acknowledged.

Delta PDP Stakeholders Emback on Substarded Projects at the Expense of Deltans.
Dear Deltans, the devil you lay causes on all day and night for the untimely death of your loves through a road accident or depression is right in your midst.
Believe it or not, in Nigeria, the large number of road accidents that result in injury or possible deaths are not witchcraft manipulated, but bad roads. The case of my State Delta is worse. Just for you to know that it’s the same people in government holding leadership positions are the ones in charge of the construction of such death trap roads.
No amount of 7:00AM NSPPD prayers of pastor Jerry Uchechukwu Eze can reduce the risk of the high volume of deaths caused by poor roads. The effects of substandard projects especially that of roads or buildings are equal to lifelong INJURY or DEATH.
I do believe that there are spiritual forces. While growing up my mom used to say, “Son we live above witches and Wizards.” A says that always comes to my mind every day of my life.
“Just as there are reckless politicians, there are reckless drivers.”
You see in Delta State, 99.9% of our problems are traced to bad leadership in the political class. The presence of a visionary mind will solve almost all the challenges that confront us as a State ranging from unemployment, food shortage, high cost of living, Insecurity, unhealthy health care system, poor roads and educational system, and many others you can think of.
When the unpleasant happens, the real devils are not your aging parents, family, friends, and side chicks as you may think. The REAL devils are the likes of Kingsley Esiso the Delta State ex-PDP Chairman, and Jerry Ehiwario the Ika South LGA Chairman who deprived gratification of delivering substandard road projects that have taken many lives through road accidents or depression. When a man who’s struggling to survive sees himself in a mechanic workshop daily, you can imagine what may follow.
Whatever projects any politician is handily is at the expense of the people and not Father Christmas. What is a crime that people commit for not getting quality?
In Ika South LGA, a road constructed by the Chairman is already failing in less than Six Months. No be juju be that.
The ongoing rehabilitation work of the failed portion of Abraka-Eku road in Ethiope East by Oruese Int’l. Nig. Ent. is a BIG embarrassment to the Delta State Government to deliver such a lousy project despite its oil-rich Money.
It’s a slap on the faces of the Abraka people of Ethiope East where the contractor Kingsley Esiso originated. That their Son is doing them MORE evil than good.
The former Delta State PDP Chairman and his party man from Ika South Jerry Ehiwarior are causing MORE damage to the Ukodo-led administration of Gov. Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori which is a contributing factor to the MORE defection of the party members from the PDP to APC.
In no distant time, Deltans shall take all their grievances to the polls to kick PDP and their evil practices off Delta State.
