Ahead of the 2023 general elections, buses allegedly bought with taxpayers money have been uncovered at the Delta State government Liaison office, Asokoro, Abuja, The Story, can authoritatively report.
The buses numbering over 20 are parked at the premises of the Liaison office, a source has revealed.
The source disclosed that one of the buses is valued at N62 million, totality about N6.2 billion.
The source in a viral video alleged that the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa bought the buses and hide them in Abuja, awaiting the opening of campaigns before rolling them out.
The vehicles are parked at the dilapidated Liaison office building that has not been renovated for many years.
Meanwhile, the abandoned building housing the Liaison office, is begging for government’s attention.
The painting of the building is wearing out while the premises is equally untidy.
It was gathered that the Okowa-led administration said it has no money to renovate the building.
He purposely left the Liaison Office in a sorry state so he could hide the buses there from eagle eyes.
In the video, the voice of the person who captured the dilapidated Liaison building and the buses said: “this is Delta State Liaison office Asokoro, look at the building.
It was gathered that Okowa purportedly spent N6.2 billion in purchasing the brand new buses for Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign.
Another source said the governor allegedly hid the buses in his Maitama house and kept others in the Delta State Liaison Office.
According to our first source, “It needs to be renovated but he couldn’t renovate it but he went ahead to buy a lot of buses for campaign.
“Look at the buses everywhere and you can see the Liaison office very ugly nothing to write home about. Look at our governor, what he is doing.
“Look at the buses he bought, I learnt that one of these buses is worth N62 million. He wants to use them for campaign, look at them, very massive.
“And he can never renovate the State Liaison office but he went ahead to buy campaign buses”, he voice lamented.
