In a heartfelt tribute to a distinguished civil servant, the Erhuvwu Club of Asaba honored Mr. Lucky Omokri with a Certificate of Recognition, accompanied by a cash award, during their 2024 end-of-year celebration on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The event, held at the VIP Lounge of the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, marked Mr. Omokri’s successful retirement from the Delta State Civil Service.
Amidst glowing tributes, the club recognized Mr. Omokri’s remarkable career, highlighting his unwavering dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service.
The Erhuvwu Club, renowned for celebrating excellence in public service and community development, deemed him a deserving recipient for his invaluable contributions to the state.
The well-attended ceremony brought together prominent members of the club, including the Club’s President, Sir David Onokpe, former Head of Service, Sir Paul Evuarherhe, retired Permanent Secretaries, captains of industry, and senior directors in the state civil service.
Their presence underscored the club’s appreciation for Mr. Omokri’s dedication and the broader recognition of the hard work of civil servants.

A Heartfelt Expression of Gratitude
In his characteristic humble and sincere tone, Mr. Omokri expressed deep gratitude to the Erhuvwu Club President, Sir David Onokpe, and members for recognizing his contributions to the Delta State Civil Service.

Mr. Omokri also paid tribute to his wife, thanking her for her unwavering support throughout his career, particularly during its challenging moments.
He described her as a pillar of strength, whose resilience helped him navigate the demands of public service.
Additionally, he extended his appreciation to the Delta State Government for providing him with the platform to serve and contribute to the state’s development.
Mr. Omokri also recognized the Delta State Honorable Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, for his steadfast support and encouragement throughout his tenure.
He acknowledged Mr. Aniagwu’s leadership and mentorship as invaluable assets to his career.
