The Acting Chairman of the Delta State Waste Management Board, Felix Erhimedafe, has reiterated his administration’s resolve to build a strong and results-driven partnership with the Association of Waste Managers (ASWAMA), as part of a broader vision to achieve a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Delta State.

Erhimedafe made this commitment on Thursday while hosting the state executives of the association, led by its President, Lucky Adjekuko, during a courtesy visit to his office.

He described the engagement as both timely and essential in reinforcing collaboration between the board and critical stakeholders within the waste management sector.

Addressing the delegation, the Acting Chairman emphasized that his leadership would prioritize purposeful partnerships that drive efficiency in waste collection, disposal, and environmental sanitation, in alignment with globally accepted standards.

“Our administration is committed to fostering close collaboration with ASWAMA and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a cleaner and safer environment for all residents of Delta State.

Effective waste management is a shared responsibility, and through collective action, we can achieve outstanding outcomes,” he stated.

He further reaffirmed the board’s dedication to promoting sound environmental practices, noting that such efforts are in sync with the developmental objectives of the MORE Agenda championed by Sheriff Oborevwori.

Erhimedafe also called on members of the association to scale up their efforts, stressing the importance of professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence in their daily activities.

“I encourage you to redouble your commitment and ensure that your members discharge their duties with utmost efficiency.

Our collective goal is to position Delta State as a benchmark for environmental cleanliness and sustainable waste management,” he added.

In his remarks, ASWAMA President, Comrade Adjekuko, congratulated Erhimedafe on his appointment, describing it as a well-earned recognition of his capacity to lead.

He lauded the long-standing relationship between the association and the Waste Management Board, noting that it has significantly enhanced service delivery over the years.

“We have maintained a cordial and productive working relationship with the board, and this visit underscores our commitment to not only sustain but further strengthen that partnership for the benefit of all Deltans,” he said.

Adjekuko assured the board of ASWAMA’s continued cooperation and unwavering support, reaffirming the association’s dedication to contributing meaningfully to a cleaner and more environmentally responsible Delta State.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing renewed determination to deepen collaboration and implement innovative strategies aimed at transforming waste management practices across the state.
