In a strategic effort to reshape political participation and strengthen women’s involvement in governance, a new political advocacy group, M.O.R.E. for Women, has emerged with a clear mission to promote women’s inclusion in Nigerian politics while supporting the “Renewed Hope for MORE” agenda.
The group aims to mobilise grassroots and strategic support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
At the forefront of this movement is Mrs. Ifeoma Rachael Akanigha, a respected professional widely recognised for her intellectual depth, leadership capacity, and commitment to public service.
Mrs. Akanigha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin, as well as a Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) in Science Education from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba.
A native of Ogbe-Onicha in Ogwashi-Uku, the administrative headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, she has continued to distinguish herself as a strong advocate for good governance and inclusive political participation.
Mrs. Akanigha has consistently expressed strong support for the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration, particularly in areas of infrastructural development, economic diversification through the blue economy initiative, education sector reforms, and sustained efforts to tackle insecurity.
Her leadership of M.O.R.E. for Women reflects a deliberate commitment to amplifying women’s voices in political decision-making and fostering greater female participation in governance structures.
The group has also thrown its weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, citing the achievements recorded under the M.O.R.E. Agenda, which it described as impactful and development-driven.
According to the group, the administration’s execution of numerous infrastructural and socio-economic projects across the 25 local government areas of the state has expanded opportunities for residents and strengthened community development.
M.O.R.E. for Women further noted that reforms implemented by the Oborevwori administration have significantly enhanced the state’s revenue profile while promoting peace, stability, and improved service delivery.
The group maintained that Governor Oborevwori’s re-election in 2027 would consolidate ongoing developmental strides and create broader platforms for women to contribute meaningfully to governance and policy formulation.
It emphasised that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to promoting effective leadership and harnessing the capacity of women as catalysts for sustainable political and socio-economic transformation.
