el-Kabir: Governor Oborevwori Greets Muslims, Urges Prayers for National Unity

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria as they celebrate the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a Sallah message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Friday, Governor Oborevwori called on the Muslim faithful to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, love, and unity as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

He described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of reflection, peace, and compassion, urging Nigerians to use the occasion to promote peaceful coexistence and demonstrate genuine love towards one another, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

The Governor emphasized the importance of continued prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, and progress, especially in these challenging times.

“Eid-el-Kabir is a time to reflect on the values of faith, obedience, and sacrifice. I encourage all Nigerians, particularly our Muslim brothers and sisters, to remain steadfast in prayers for the nation’s stability and development,” he said.

Governor Oborevwori assured residents of Delta State of a peaceful and secure celebration, noting that the state government is working closely with security agencies to ensure the safety of all during and after the festivities.

He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Muslim community in the state to foster development and unity.

“As we celebrate, let us remember to be our brothers’ keepers and continue to build bridges of understanding and harmony across all divides,” he said.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I extend warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. May this season bring peace, prosperity, and renewed hope to our dear nation.”
