DTHA Poised For Greater Legislative Impact In 2025 Under Speaker Guwor

The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), is poised to maintain its collaborative partnership with the Executive arm of government to ensure that the State’s development agenda stays on course.

Ahead of the resumption of plenary after the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, stated that the 8th Delta State Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, will achieve greater legislative productivity in 2025.

Mr. Nwaeke in a release on Wednesday January 8, 2025, highlighted that the House recorded significant achievements in 2024 and expressed confidence that these positive strides will continue in 2025 and beyond.

He emphasized that, under the proactive leadership of Rt. Hon. Guwor, the State Assembly has made remarkable progress in passing impactful legislation aimed at improving the lives of the people of Delta State.

The CPS further noted that the Speaker and his team are deeply committed to good governance and remain resolute in addressing the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Delta State.

He added that Rt. Hon. Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, has earned widespread public acclaim for his legislative expertise and leadership acumen.

These qualities have made the 8th Assembly vibrant, focused, and respected among state legislatures across the country.

Mr. Nwaeke assured that the Speaker will continue to take decisive steps to strengthen the legislative institution in Delta State and ensure the House remains productive in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.

“Looking ahead into 2025, projections for the Delta State House of Assembly are promising.

“Under the quality leadership of Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, the House already passed a realistic and implementable budget for 2025 fiscal year which has been assented to by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Delta State.

“The 979. 2 billion naira budget is the working tool for the government in addressing state’s issues and promoting economic growth, and the Speaker is ever committed in supporting the Governor to succeed in the MORE agenda.

“On resumption of plenary anytime soon, the world will see even more legislative productivity, with focus on passing bills and motions that benefit the people and residents of Delta State”, Nwaeke added.
