The Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS) has approved a two-week extension for the submission of individual annual income tax returns, moving the deadline from March 31 to April 14, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, the decision was taken to allow taxpayers more time to accurately fulfill their tax obligations.

The agency explained that while the statutory deadline remains March 31, as stipulated under the Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, the extension is intended to ease the compliance process and promote accuracy in filings.

Ighrakpata urged all eligible taxpayers, particularly employees, to take advantage of the extended window and discharge their civic responsibilities without delay.

He further emphasized that all tax returns must be submitted electronically via the DSIRS self-service portal, noting that manual submissions will not be accepted.

The Service also advised individuals who may require assistance to visit any of its offices or reach out through official communication platforms, including email and the website chat feature.

The extension is expected to enhance compliance rates and ensure more precise tax reporting across Delta State.
