DSCTDA Holds First Board Meeting Of 2025, Applauds Governor For Approving Key Infrastructure Projects

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) convened its first Board of Directors meeting for 2025 on February 25 at the Agency’s headquarters in Asaba.

The meeting, presided over by Chairman Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, brought together key stakeholders, including Director General Patrick Ukah, Engr. Akpomedaye Ogaga, Mr. Chekwube Chukwuedo, Mrs. Endurance Ibru, and Mrs. F.N. Atogun, representing economic planning.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Okoro commended the board members for their dedication to the Agency’s mandate.

Director General Patrick Ukah then provided an overview of DSCTDA’s achievements in the past year and announced the State Executive Council’s approval for an upward review of several ongoing construction projects. These include:

Reconstruction of Marine Road, AsabaF, lood control measures at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Street, with a discharge drain through Ogbeogonogo Market to Otuogwu Bay, Asaba, Construction of roads in key locations, including Odilison E.C., Junior Crescent, Ngozi Odiaka Avenue, Odilison Close, Anyafulu Chinedum Street, Obidinma Okonne Street, Vomechei Owumi Street, and Redeemer Street, all in Asaba

Development of a road network within the Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA) Housing Estate, Asaba

Additionally, DSCTDA will embark on new projects, including: Construction of Chris Abudei Street and Ogbueshi M. Onochie Street, Asaba, Construction of House of Assembly Service Commission Road, Asaba, Construction of Ken Oweazin Kenaz Crescent Street, Asaba.

Director General Ukah also highlighted that while several major projects have been approved for the Capital Territory, budgetary considerations have necessitated their execution under relevant state ministries. These projects include:

Reconstruction of Umejei Road, Ibusa, Reconstruction of Okpanam City Road, from the city gate to the Catholic Church Roundabout and to the post office

Rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of Summit Road, extending to the Government House gate

Extension of Anwai-Ugbolu Road, from Central Bank Housing Estate to Ugbolu town

Rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of key roads, including Interbau Roundabout through Nnebisi Road to Abraka Junction

Street lighting projects, including installations along Nnebisi Road, Abraka Junction, Cable Point Road, and House of Assembly to Okpanam Post Office, which will be handled by the Ministries of Energy and Urban Renewal

Construction of 4km of internal roads within the new Government Layout/GRA in Ugbolu

The Board members expressed their appreciation to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, for his unwavering commitment to infrastructure development and urban renewal.

They emphasized that these projects would enhance interconnectivity, improve mobility, and drive economic growth within the Capital Territory.

Chairman Hon. Emmanuel Okoro reaffirmed the Board’s dedication to supporting the governor’s MORE Agenda, ensuring that Delta State continues to experience sustainable urban development.

With these strategic initiatives, the DSCTDA remains committed to transforming the Delta State Capital Territory, fostering modern infrastructure development, and enhancing public services to improve the quality of life for residents.
