The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has launched a renewed environmental sanitation exercise at Koka Bridge, Asaba, as part of sustained efforts to uphold cleanliness and order within the Delta State capital.
The intervention, which commenced on February 18, 2026, was executed by the Agency’s Environment Unit and focused on the evacuation of indiscriminately dumped refuse, human waste, and accumulated sand along the bridge corridor.
The operation was supervised by the Head of Environment, Mr. Isaac Nwosu, who led the team to ensure the thorough removal of environmental nuisances and the restoration of sanitation within the axis.
Speaking on the development, the Director-General of the Agency, Mr. Patrick Ukah, explained that the exercise aligns with the Agency’s statutory responsibility to maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally sustainable capital territory.
He emphasized that environmental sanitation remains a top priority of the Agency, noting that the cleanup will continue on Thursday with further sweeping and evacuation of sand deposits within the affected area.
Mr. Ukah called on residents, commuters, and business operators to complement government efforts by desisting from indiscriminate waste disposal and adopting responsible sanitation practices.
The ongoing exercise underscores the Agency’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors within the capital territory.
