The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly (NASS), Senator Ned Nwoko, may have concluded plans to leave the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Talks of his move to APC were reportedly held today Saturday January 18, 2025, in his hometown, Idumuje-Gboko, Aniocha north local government area of Delta State, marking a significant political shift in Delta State.
With Nwoko’s defection plans, all three Delta State Senators in the National Assembly now belong to the ruling APC in the central, a historic development in the state’s political landscape.
Delta State, a stronghold of the PDP since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999, faces a unique shift with this alignment.

A source very close to the Senator, said: “He will Defect properly. He has just had Consultations with his constituents and informed them of his imminent defection”.
