The Obi of Issele-Uku (Oligbo) Kingdom in Aniocha north local government area of Delta State, His Royal Majesty (HRM), King (Obi) Agbogidi Ólòme Obi Nduka Ezeagwuna, has assured that the request of His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON to seek the support of the people of Issele-Uku kingdom ahead of the forthcoming general election has been granted.
The traditional ruler said: “I have no doubt in my mind that Issele-Uku will become better for it”.
The revered monarch gave the assurance on Tuesday 10th 2023, when Olorogun Gbagi, the incoming Governor of the State, under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), paid him a courtesy visit in his Palace.
The monarch thanked the former minister of state for education for his impeccable character and the cordial relationship with one of the Palace Chiefs and by extension, the people of Issele-Uku kingdom.
The Obi of Issele-Uku disclosed that he was pleased with the gesture of Gbagi, to see his subjects ahead of the forthcoming general election as they are stakeholders in determining who governs them.
The Obi who was flanked by traditional chiefs, elders and other subjects said: “I am very much overjoyed with your relationship with Issele-Uku Community because it is very obvious and that is stirring at us right now in my very presence.
“And by the grace of God and our ancestors, when you become the governor, I have no doubt in my mind that Issele-Uku will become better for it.
“We will grant you your request, we will pray for you and we hope that God almighty and our ancestors will do the rest for us.
“I want to thank you specially for coming to see us and for keeping the relationship. For you to be friend with one of our chiefs here for 30 years, it speak volumes about you. And in that vein, I want to appreciate your character.
“I want to appreciate those that are assisting you, may God almighty give them the strength to continue to guide you.
“May they not lead you astray and as you lead them, you have the strength to lead them to the promise land.
“You have come to see the people of Issele-Uku and the people of Aniocha north. We are very happy to receive you.
“As you will find, Issele-Uku and Aniocha north, we are very happy to receive you. I am sure you will enjoy your stay here.
“On behalf of Issele-Uku, the elders, the chiefs and the great people of Aniocha north, I say welcome once again and I wish well in your endeavour”, he said.
