… As Gbagi Proposes E.K Clark’s Lecture Series
“When it comes to 2023 and beyond, as a principled group, we are going to stand for the principle of justice, equity and capability”, the E.K Clark Solidarity for Okowa, has said.
The group on Saturday November 20th 2021, made their position known while conferring the hounour of the National Patron of E.K Clark Solidarity for Okowa, on Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, leading Delta State governorship aspirant, at his Oginibo country home, Ughelli south local government area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO), of the E K Clark Solidarity for Okowa, Prince Abugo, who spoke on behalf of the group said: “We will not trade any section of the state for anything. We will stand with the same ideas that made our father an enviable figure in this country”.
He disclosed that Olorogun Gbagi’s immense contribution to the party as a founding father, has remained steadfast and committed to the ideology of the party and has never cross carpeted to any other party.
“You have stood firm as a faithful core PDP believer. You have also contributed immensely to the Socio-economic development of the state and the society at large”.
The Pa E.K Clark Solidarity for Okowa, declared that the group was not in Oginibo for sycophancy and political jamboree, insisting that the Industrialist “merited” the honour.
Another respondent, Delta Central leader, E.K Clark Solidarity, Chief Erute Abovi Hope, who spoke on behalf of Chief (Dr) E.K Clark, reaffirmed that they are not a sycophant group but were moved by the actions of the philanthropist whose attention is towards a better society.
“We have decided that today, we will investiture you as the national patron of the group. It is the confidence that we have in you that made us to choose you to be the patron of the group.
“Clark expect that you will realize that he must not be disappointed, he expects that you will work hard and become governor of this State. We worked for Okowa, but yours will be different.
“When someone is doing what you think is good, join him to complement his efforts. We are going to complement your efforts on issues and strategies because experience has taught us that no man knows it all”.
He asserted that when we run as a group, “we run faster. If you do it alone, you might spend some more time. So we have come to join you so that this race will be faster, sharper and result oriented”, he declared.
Also, the Delta north leader, E K Clark Solidarity, Chief Barr. Edmund Ojeogwu, who spoke on behalf of the National Chairman, Sir Simeon Efenudu, expressed satisfaction over the simplicity of Olorogun Gbagi, noting that the national chairman had informed the group that the gubernatorial hopeful deserve the honour.
In his response, elated Gbagi, who is a founding member of the E.K Clark Solidarity for Okowa, revealed that his first task is to bring all members of the group across the three senatorial districts together.
“We must now move from where we are now into wards of every local government in the state”, he said.
Hear him: “I am going to mobilize for us to have a national day for E.K Clark. He is an embodiment of so many good things. E K Clark, is consistent largely, Governor Okowa, is consistent. E. K Clark has character and Dr. Okowa, has character.
Gbagi, disclosed how Chief E.K Clark invited him to his house in Kiagbodo, for prayers, “We must immortalize Clark here on earth while he still lives. My joy is that come May 29, while I am been sworn in, Chief E. K Clark, must be there”.
He stated that the foremost Ijaw national leader has paid his dues, stressing that the E.K Clark Solidarity, would not end with his demise , “we must make our plans to make sure we keep it alive. Papa Clark has worked, not only in this dispensation.
“He has worked in Nigeria, he has contribute, we will all be failing in our duties and responsibilities if we do not take this name and keep it beyond him.
“I insist that we put up immediately, a lecture series for the next E. K Clark’s birthday. That lecture will continue from dynasty to dynasty”, Olorogun Gbagi, declared.
Highpoint of the ceremony, was the investiture of National Patron, E.K Clark Solidarity for Okowa and the presentation of Award Plague on Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, Delta most prominent gubernatorial hopeful.
