The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has commended the invaluable contributions of the Armed Forces in maintaining peace, stability, and security in Nigeria, stating that their sacrifices remain indelible in the hearts of the people.
In a goodwill message marking the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Guwor paid tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the nation.
He acknowledged their selflessness, courage, and loyalty as a source of inspiration for all Nigerians, while also recognizing the sacrifices of their families and loved ones.
The Speaker, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, emphasized the importance of continued support for the Armed Forces and veterans, stressing that their welfare must remain a national priority.
As the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, Guwor called on all stakeholders to create an environment that fosters peace, unity, and prosperity.
He reaffirmed the Delta State House of Assembly’s commitment to supporting Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s collaboration with the Armed Forces, citing the governor’s pledge of ongoing assistance to their operations within the state.
Guwor urged Nigerians to honor the memory of fallen heroes by striving for a brighter future and prayed for continued peace and stability across the nation.
He said, “As we commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, I, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.
