Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their triumphant victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they clinched their 10th title in a dramatic comeback against host nation, Morocco.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker expressed immense pride and joy over the team’s resilience and determination, which saw them overturn a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-2 victory.

Rt. Hon. Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, praised the Super Falcons for their exceptional display of teamwork, discipline, and commitment, attributes that, he said, exemplify the spirit of Nigerian women.

“The Super Falcons have once again demonstrated that with hard work, unity, and passion, Nigerians can achieve greatness,” he stated.

The Speaker, a passionate football enthusiast and striker in the sport, commended the players, coach, and entire technical crew for their sacrifices and outstanding contribution to national pride.

“This victory is not only a sporting achievement but a symbol of hope, strength, and inspiration for millions of girls and women across Nigeria. It affirms the rising influence of women’s football and its role in advancing gender equality and empowerment,” Guwor said.

Speaking on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, he described the Falcons’ triumph as a legacy of excellence that will continue to motivate younger generations to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

“Once again, I heartily congratulate the Super Falcons on this monumental success. May your victory inspire the growth of women’s sports in Nigeria and ignite the passion of a new generation of champions,” the Speaker concluded.
