Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has dismissed as baseless and unfounded a media report alleging that ten PDP lawmakers in the House are planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reacting to concerns raised by the House Leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, during plenary on Tuesday, Guwor urged Deltans, especially PDP members, to ignore the misleading report.

He reassured that all 22 PDP lawmakers in the Assembly remain steadfast and loyal to the party.

“The rumour peddler is daydreaming. He is in his own world. PDP in Delta State is strong and intact. Deltans are happy with the MORE agenda of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,” Guwor stated.

House Leader Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, while addressing the report under “Statement by the Leader of the House”, described it as a fabrication allegedly orchestrated by an APC leader in the state.

He insisted that all 22 PDP lawmakers remain fully committed to the party and have no plans of leaving. Instead, he revealed that five out of the seven APC members in the House are considering defecting to the PDP, with discussions already in progress.

Nwaobi emphasized that PDP lawmakers will not be distracted by baseless rumors, reaffirming their unwavering loyalty to the party and its leadership.

Meanwhile, Speaker Guwor extended an open invitation to opposition members willing to join the PDP, assuring them that the party’s umbrella is big enough to accommodate everyone.
