The Senators-elect for Delta South Senatorial Districts of Delta State, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, was spotted preparing starch, a local delicious with firewood in a village setting.
Starch, is a local delicious in place of garri (Eba), used to eat oil soup also known as Owo or Banger soup in the Niger Delta region.
The picture posted on a Facebook page, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas For Senate 2023, by one Don Silas Okakoso, attracted commendations for the Senators-elect.
According to Don Silas Okakoso, “not every man in Delta south can do this successfully.
“God has given us the real man who will lead us to light and speedy recovery with massive development, Delta south make the right choice.
It would be recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mr. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas winner of the Delta South Senatorial District in the Feb. 25 National Assembly elections.
Prof. Peretimina Anthony, the Returning Officer (RO) for the election, on Tuesday declared Thomas winner of the contest.
The result was announced at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of the State.
Anthony said that Thomas, a former Chairman of Delta Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate, polled a total 49, 955 votes.
He added that the Senator-elect defeated Mr Michael Diden, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored a total of 47,656 votes.
He said that retired Commodore Omatseye Nesiama of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), polled 4,721.
