Critical stakeholders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Delta State have thrown their weights behind the decision of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), to dissolve its Delta State chapter Caretaker Committee.
The decision to dissolve the Olorogun Esther Ikuke-led State Caretaker Committee, was in the interest of the party, to forge a common and formidable ground and win election come 2027.
The endorsement was done on Sunday August 11, 2024, during its State Chapter meeting in Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli north local government area of the State.
In a release made available to journalists and signed by the Chairman, Ughelli north LGA cum Chairman of Chairmen, Delta State Chapter, Olorogun Tega Nikoro, the stakeholders promised to support the new Caretaker Committee set up by the national.
“The party pledged her full support in working with the new caretaker committee set up by the National Working Committee in building the party as a bride worthy of a befitting groom in 2027 general election.
“The chairman of chairmen, Olorogun Tega Nikoro used the opportunity to call on all aggrieved members and leaders of the party in Delta state before and after the 2023 general election to come back home to build and to move the party forward.
“The party is very much ready to accept both old and new members”, the release, added.
The meeting was attended by leaders drawn from the three senatorial district among whom are;
