The ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State chapter would hold its State Congress on Saturday August 31, 2024.
In a release by the State Publicity Secretary, Engr. Dan Ossai, said the Congress would hold at Cenotaph, Asaba, the State capital.
The statement noted that the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, would be in attendance.
The statement further charged all members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), former governors and their Deputies, former and serving National Assembly members, leaders, critical stakeholders and members of the party in the State to take note note and be seated by 9:00am.
According to the release, “Delegates and aspirants for various offices should be seated by 9:00am”.
Those billed to be in attendance include “The Governor and the Deputy Governor of Delta State. Former Governors and their Deputies.
“Serving and Former Members of the BOT. Members of the party’s State Executive Committee. Serving and Former Members of the NEC and ZEC.
“Serving and Former Members of the National Assembly. Serving Members of DTHA and Former Principal Officers DTHA.
“Local Government Council Chairmen and Vice Chairmen. All Local Government Party Executive Members.
“All National Assembly and Delta State House of Assembly Candidates of the PDP in the last general election. Three Delegates from the Wards. Former Members of the State Working Committee of PDP.
“Former Local Government Area Party Chairmen. One Physically Challenged Person per Local Government Area. All Serving elected Local Government Councilors.
“All serving Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen, Secretaries, Women and Youth Leaders of the Wards in the State. All National Delegates”
The statement stressed that all the categories of persons mentioned above must still be members of the party.
