Ahead of the March 11 governorship contest, Peter Obi supporters under the umbrella body of Idjere OBIDIENT family, have vowed to deliver the Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate, the incoming Governor, His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON, and his running mate Chief Mrs. Rosemary Ishioma Oshilim with massive votes during the 2023 guber election.
They made the vow on Tuesday February 28th 2023, at Atiwor-Jesse Town, Idjerhe kingdom, Ethiope east local government area of the State.
The structure of the group comprises youth leaders, Chairmen, Women leaders of various Obi support networks who gave the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), massive votes during the just concluded presidential election.
Speaking during the memorable outing, Collins Atoborherhiru, the Coordinator, Idjerhe OBIDIENT Family, called on the entire OBIDIENTS across the State, to queue behind the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Gbagi come March 11th.
“Ahead of the governorship election that is coming up March 11th 2023, as you all know, we members of Labour Party and OBIDIENTS, have a governorship candidate but our major focus and aim, is for Peter Obi and we have delivered on that.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on all OBIDIENTS in Idjerhe, Ethiope west and Delta State in general, to support the SDP candidate in the coming election.
“We are not doing this to seek for funds or any favour but it is turn of Delta Central, Urhobo and our candidate of Labour Party, although he has not come to address us to tell us his place of origin.
“Please, I want to call on our people because on Saturday here, we showed our capacity and I believe that majority of us here are in support of this movement.
“We will support him, we will vote for him, we will deliver him in our capacity”, stressing that the group is after character, integrity, capacity and someone with commitment to the job.
Also speaking, Oghenesume Ogedegbe, Leader of Jesse OBIDIENTS family, called out the OBIDIENT family to vote for Gbagi, who according to him, has shown capacity in the private and public sectors.
“Do you know why I encourage you to vote for Gbagi? It is because this man is an industrialist, he is an employer of labour, a philanthropist, he is a man who have served in government but has no criminal records and he is a man that we can trust”.
