In a statement issued in Asaba, on Sunday 25th October 2020, jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Council, Comrades Michael Ikeogwu and Patrick Ochei, Chief Macaulay was described as a diligent and resilient Labour leader who had seen it all and continues to be graciously sustained by God’s mercies and favour.
The Statement said that Chief Macaulay was a thoroughbred journalist who put all his efforts in ensuring a peaceful and progressive NUJ in Delta State, maintaining that that was why God blessed him with more promotions from NUJ Delta State Council Chairman to NLC Delta State Council Chairman.
“Not done with blessing him, God promoted him to become Commissioner in the State and Secretary to the Delta State Government and still counting”, the Statement read.
While congratulating him and wishing him more fruitful years ahead, the Union acknowledged that Chief Macaulay is well endowed with administrative prowess and will in a long time remain resourceful to Delta State and Nigeria at large.
It assured to continue to celebrate him as an Ambassador to the Union in the State, proclaiming that God would continue to use him to bring relevance and added value to the NUJ in Delta and beyond.
