A leading figure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Emmanuel Afam Eboh, has reaffirmed that the endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko by Delta North APC stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections remains valid, binding, and irrevocable.
Chief Eboh was reacting to comments made by an APC local government party chairman, Mr. Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma, who questioned the endorsement during a recent television interview.
According to Eboh, such objections carry no weight against the overwhelming decision of the senatorial district’s APC leadership.
He recalled that on 14 June 2025, thousands of APC leaders and members from across the nine local government areas of Delta North convened at Idumuje-Ugboko for an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting.
The gathering passed a unanimous vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ned Nwoko, pledging full support for their re-election bids in 2027.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Chief Eboh stressed that the endorsement had the backing of critical party stakeholders, rendering any lone dissenting voice insignificant.
He described Mr. Sochukwudinma’s stance as “an exercise in futility,” pointing out that the meeting was constitutionally convened by Delta North APC Chairman, Chief Eluaka Adizua, and attended by State Chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie.
“Sochukwudinma even attended the meeting and raised no objection,” Eboh noted. “His post-meeting media remarks are unrealistic, mischievous, and aimed at seeking undue attention.
“His criticisms are baseless, and his attempt at character assassination will not alter the facts.”
Eboh further alleged that Mr. Sochukwudinma had, just days before his public comments, visited Senator Nwoko in Abuja to pledge loyalty.
“For him to then turn around and speak carelessly about the party’s decision betrays a lack of commitment to the APC,” Eboh said.
“What has he contributed to the growth of our party compared to Senator Nwoko, whose achievements in just six months are unmatched?”
The APC stalwart praised Senator Nwoko’s role in strengthening the party both in Delta State and at the national level, describing him as “an asset to the success of the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.”
He advised Sochukwudinma and his supporters to retrace their steps and align with the collective vision for a stronger APC and a more prosperous Delta North.
