Delta IPAC Elects New Leaders With Promise To Deal Fairly With Members

The Delta State Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Prince Henry Eze, has been elected Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

Prince Eze polled 11 votes to defeat Okorakpa Omowara who garnered six votes in a free and fair election conducted at the State INEC headquarters in Asaba by the National Electoral Committee of IPAC, led by the National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle.

Other officers returned unopposed were Ebewore Simeon, Deputy Chairman; Okaegwu Peter, Secretary; Okproma Joseph, Deputy Secretary; Oghenejabor Onome, Financial Secretary; Engr Okolie Austine, Treasurer; Barr Hessington Okolo, Organizing Secretary; Umudjone Sylvester, Publicity Secretary and Barr Oghenejerovwonen Ifeanyichukwu, Legal Adviser.

In his acceptance speech after the inauguration of the new executive by the National Chairman of Action Alliance, Barr Kenneth Udeze, Prince Eze thanked the Electoral Committee for the peaceful conduct of the election.

He said his victory was for all Chairmen of registered political parties in the state and urged them to join hands with the new executive to move IPAC in Delta state forward.

Addressing the Party Chairmen before the election, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Etekanba Umoren, represented by the Administrative Secretary, Dr. Andrew Akhigbe, said INEC and IPAC were partners in progress, hence the interest in the election.

In his remarks after the election, the National Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, said the organisation was committed to enthroning internal democracy in all state chapters of the organisation and reminded the new Delta executive that it must work for the good of both the ruling and opposition parties.

Earlier, the outgone Chairman of IPAC in Delta state, Hon Emeka Bidokwu, thanked members for their support for his administration, which he noted was turbulent but successful and solicited increased support for the Prince Henry Eze-led executive.

Other members of the National Electoral Committee present were Comrade Egbeola Martins, National Organizing Secretary; Prince Chinedu Obi, IPAC DG; Mrs. Chinyere Ogekalu, National Publicity Secretary; Chief Kenneth Udeze, Action Alliance National Chairman and Barr. Obed Agu, National Legal Adviser.
